Social Media Tips for Sign and Print Shops

Social media is extremely useful these days for businesses and this includes sign companies and print shops. With a global pandemic affecting businesses on a scale never seen before, social media can be used to connect with potential customers and to stay in front of current customers. 

These days most people, whether they are business owners or employees of businesses that you would like to connect or remain connected with are on Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn.  So, as part of your marketing strategy, it would be wise for your sign shop to invest time in social media.

Here are some tips that may help you be successful:

Consider your Target Audience First. 

Who is your target audience? How large is it? Are they local small businesses, Fortune 500 companies, fleet owners, or supermarkets, or some other target? Once you figure out your target audience, it is easier to know what content to share.

Create Quality Content.

Consider what would appeal to your target audience. Sharing tips on caring for their signage and make the best use of their yard signs can be helpful to your current customers and show potential customers that you have an invested interest in being there for your customers beyond the sale.

Engage and Connect

When people post comments on your Facebook page or reply to a tweet on Twitter, this is a great opportunity to connect. Make sure you respond in a timely manner. This makes a huge impression on many people. Business owners and employees alike appreciate connection.

Promote your Customer’s Businesses

Share their blog articles or signage that you made for them. “Like” or comment on the content that they share.  This can increase interaction and promote a community feeling which usually leads to cross-promotion.

Share Images of Your Work

The majority of people seem to be very visual. Sites like Pinterest and Instagram are proof at that. There have also been studies that have proven that people like or comment more on images than they do on words on social media. (Just like vehicle wraps get more noticed than lettering.) By being a visual company, you have an advantage in this area. So, make sure that you also share your exceptional work. Share your sandblasted signs, your vehicle wraps, and other signage. This allows business owners and employees to see your amazing work, as well as validity that other companies trust you to hire you.

Enjoy social media for your business and get your employees involved. Make it a fun and welcoming place for others to interact with your sign company.
